Skytex Primer Colour Ereader Delivers More Than Most

Skytex Primer colour ereader is the latest ereader from Skytex. This is not your run of the mill ereader. Full color, 2 gigabytes standard memory upgradeable to 16 gigabytes with an SD card, an on board microphone for recording ideas or music, and full eBook video and music compatibility are a few of the new features that make this one of the better ereaders available today.

Full compatibility with other computers makes transfer of any files as easy as click and drop. The ereader has a 3X zoom feature for easy reading and low eye strain.

The screen is a 7 inch diagonal with an 800x 480 SVGA. The 400 megahertz CPU provides plenty of power. Four gigabytes of hard drive space are needed to run the device on a PC or other computer. You have the choice of running Windows XP, Vista, or 7 on the ereader.

A built in radio and a recording program that lets you capture the newest songs to your ereader.

The ereader supports most commonly used formats like TXT, HTML, ePUB, PDF, and FB2. All video and audio file types are compatible with this ereader. The device supports JPG, BMP, and GIF picture formats.

There is an on board translation function for the most commonly used European and Asian languages.

A unique feature is the capability to run DRM eBooks directly without any translation software or compatibility problems. You can also run Kindle books with a downloadable app.

Input and output are easy to use with an SD card slot, 3,5 mm ear phone jack, a USB port, and a built in speaker and microphone.

The 2500mAh rechargeable Lithium-Polymer battery provides up to 6 hours of video playback, 20 hours of audio playback, and 12 hours of reading before a recharge is needed.. The power source is a 100

240VAC, 50/60Hz adapter. A USB transfer cable is standard with this ereader allowing you to copy files from your PC or old ereader to this model quickly without any data loss or file corruption.

The browser history lets you read and keep you place in as many as ten books at a time.

The downsides are the battery has a one year warranty but must be replaced when it dies, a touch screen model is in the works and due out in 2012 but not available presently, and Kindle books are not supported but can be accommodated through a Kindle app.

In this economy price is important. You can get five of these for what a Kindle costs.

The Skytex Primer colour ereader is as unique, multifunctional, and user friendly as ereaders get. The price could be the best selling point were it not for the functionality and versatility of this ereader. Full color, compatibility with any format (some apps are needed for some formats), a built in radio, an on board mike and speaker, and long life wireless portability make this model a real gem.
