Fujitsu Colour Ereader
Fujitsu FLEPia Color Ereader
The Fujitsu FLEPia was the first of its kind. Announced as the first color ereader, this product has paved the way for similar products. Unique capabilities, constantly improving graphics, and convenient size keep it a frontrunner among e-readers.
The convenience of an e-reader versus books is multi-faceted. For starters, electronic readers are capable of storing a versatile library containing thousands of books. Also, electronic books are considerably cheaper to buy than physical books, which will save you money and allow you to get more of your favorite reads for the dollar.
Stored safely on your e-reader, the pages of your e-books will never get smudged, folded, wrinkled, smeared, or discolored. And with their long battery lives you can conveniently take an e-reader with you wherever you go. They are lighter and smaller than most books, particularly hard covers, so that you can easily slip them into your purse, back pack, or briefcase.
And e-readers are getting even more impressive now by going beyond simply displaying books. Some now have Internet capabilities on them as well. The Fujitsu FLEPia can claim all these features and then some.
An improvement on both the Kindle and Nook, the Fujitsu FLEPia flaunts a large screen display of 8 inches, which is said to display 260,000 different colors. This is a full 2 inch advantage over its competitors. Its touch screen utilizes 1,024 x 768 pixels, while its 40-hour battery life enables long, uninterrupted hours of reading. The Fujitsu FLEPia also has a USB port and SD card slot.
But, like more and more e-readers now, the Fujitsu FLEPia does more than display electronic books. The device runs Windows CE as well as wireless Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for a wider range of functions. An improvement on both the Nook and Kindle, this Japanese gadget has a swifter scrolling feature and a speedy refresh rate of just 1.2 seconds.
While it was only available in Japan for the first few years after its big debut, creators of the Fujitsu FLEPia are planning to market it in the U.S. As of last year this electronic gadget still cost a pretty penny at $1,000 - the same price it was upon its first release. Eager American consumers can only start saving their money as they watch and wait for its long anticipated arrival.
Although this sleek e-reader has probably made it onto your wish list by now, it may be a while until you are able to even consider holding it in your hands. A U.S. release date has not yet been revealed. The advantage to waiting, however, allows for the likelihood that the Fujitsu will make even further advancements on the FLEPia so that by the time itís available for purchase your Fujitsu FLEPia will be even more amazing.
